The driving force behind all modern hearing aids, the balanced-armature receiver technology first introduced in 1954 has been refined and enhanced through many years of R&D investment and practical experience. Knowles receivers' combination of output power and compact size make them the choice for any hearing instrument. A full range of Knowles' PantographTM, FerrofluidTM, and Vibration IsolationTM technologies can be added to any receiver to maximize its design impact.
* For Power BTE, Standard BTE, Full-shell ITE, Half-shell ITE, ITC, and CIC applications * Sizes ranging from 9.47mm x 7.18mm x 4.14mm (.373" x .283" x .163") to 5.00mm x 2.73mm x 1.98mm (.199" x .108" x .078") * Maximum outputs from 114dB to 141dB SPL * Two-terminal zero-bias and three-terminal center-tapped configurations * Undamped, screen damped, internally damped, and FerrofluidTM damped responses * Numerous port locations * Wide range of coil impedances * Available with D-ampTM, PantographTM, FerrofluidTM, and Vibration IsolationTM technologies
FerrofluidTM damping is an innovative new receiver damping technology developed by Knowles Electronics. By injecting a minute amount of ferrofluid into the receiver, Knowles has eliminated the need for damping screens and their inherent drawbacks while still retaining all of their benefits.
* Available for most receiver sizes in FEF, FED, FEP, FEH, FES, FFC, FFD, and FFH series * Peak amplitude selectable in 2dB increments ? 2dB, 4dB, or 6dB peaks * Can be used in combination with other damping techniques * Reduced incidence of wax clogging * Superior shock protection * Reduce receiver vibration at resonance peaks * Compatible with Knowles' D-amp receivers and PantographTM and Vibration IsolationTM technologies
PantographTM technology represents a revolutionary approach to receiver design. The Pantograph mechanism allows the receiver armature and paddle to move in opposite directions, greatly reducing receiver vibration and creating more maximum output. The end result is additional hearing aid SPL output and increased gain-before-feedback.
* For Power BTE to CIC applications in PHF and PHD series * Increased Maximum Power Output (MPO) for same receiver size * Greatly reduced receiver vibration * More hearing instrument SPL output for same aid size * More hearing aid gain-before-feedback * Compatible with Knowles' FerrofluidTM and Vibration IsolationTM technologies
Based on the high-output HC receiver design, the wide-bandwidth WbHC receiver pushes the boundaries of high-frequency performance. With increased high-frequency output and improved bandwidth in the critical 3kHz to 7kHz region, the WbHC receiver brings better clarity, sound quality, and output for patients with high-frequency hearing loss and provides the basis for a Hi-Fi hearing instrument.
* Ideal for patients with mild to moderate high-frequency hearing loss * Suitable for acoustic gains up to 40dB * For Mini-BTE or ITE applications * Increased bandwidth by 2900Hz versus typical receivers (per ANSI S3.22) * Improved output in the critical 3kHz to 7kHz range * 5.19mm x 3.55mm x 3.00mm (.204" x .140" x .118") with rounded corners for improved fit rates * Optional back venting for increased low-frequency output * Undamped response with wide range of coil impedances * Two-terminal or three-terminal configuration * Same size as Knowles? popular FC and HC receivers
Vibration IsolationTM receivers take vibration reduction to the next level. By jacketing a PantographTM receiver with flexible rubber surrounds and enclosing the assembly in an outer mu-metal can, Vibration IsolationTM receivers provide superior gain-before-feedback in a convenient, easy-to-install package. No external receiver suspension systems are required, simply install the Vibration IsolationTM receiver and close the aid.
* For Power BTE to CIC applications in VPHF, VPHD, VPHC, and VPHH series * Increased Maximum Power Output (MPO) for same receiver size * Superior broadband receiver vibration reduction * Maximum hearing instrument SPL output for same aid size * Maximum hearing aid gain-before-feedback * Reduced magnetic radiation (mag rad) for improved telecoil performance * No need for external receiver wrapping, booting, or suspension systems * Incorporates Knowles' PantographTM technology, compatible with FerrofluidTM damping
